Since the opening of the Museum in 1999, the Museum collection has steadily grown. All artifacts must relate to the history of drugs and drug law enforcement. The collection has more than 2,000 objects ranging from old patent medicine bottles to modern drug concealment containers. There also are over 5,000 images from the late 1800s to the present. Whether on exhibit or not, the objects are used for research and study. Presently, a library collection database is being built.
We currently offer limited research services and picture duplication. Turn around time expected is 3-4 weeks. An appointment is required for any type of service.
The DEA Museum Collection welcomes donations. We are looking for artifacts that deal with the history of drugs and drug law enforcement. All donations are tax deductible. Each artifact that is received is cared for by the highest museum standards. If you have any questions or are interested in donating, please call the museum (202) 307-3463.
